I love the WordPress shopping cart I use right now, though it wasn’t always sweet peaches and white cream. That’s to say, the plugin I use, called Cart66, wasn’t always my favorite. Or, at least, it wasn’t always the most exciting. Most exciting and “sexy” in that sense has to be WooCommerce by the folks at WooThemes, but Cart66, especially the premium Cart66 Pro version, has proved to be the one I get along with the best.
By “get along with” I mean most user-friendly, which is important for a WordPress shopping cart that’s going to take care of the mundane stuff for you. The last thing any businessman or woman wants to do is fiddle with technical doo-dads while trying to make money. And for a certain kind of business, site visuals may be just about as important as anything else — and Cart66 exceeds in this regard. You can style your product page any which way without knowing anything more than simple HTML or CSS.
Not so with the other WordPress shopping cart solutions I’ve tried, which more often than not had a certain layout that users would be forced into adopting if they can’t or don’t want to code, such as the aforementioned WooCommerce. Oftentimes you wouldn’t care about that, as the true power of cart software lay in the functionality, the features and so forth. But still, ease-of-use is important and versatility too, and with the web being such a visual medium and all I chose Cart66 for the freedom it provides in styling my site to look just as I want it to without any real technical knowledge necessary.
So I’ve been playing around with shopping carts for some time now but honestly you could spend quite a number of hours figuring each one out so I just did as much in-depth research as I could stomach and pulled the proverbial trigger on a purchase — and as indicated right from the very outset I am happy as pie about it. I recommend you get what I got, or if you’re still undecided you can head on over to the website referenced by the hyperlinks in this article and take a look at some of the reviews posted for various WordPress related stuff there, including shopping carts, and make up your mind then!
Either way, don’t be without one too long if you’re serious about doing serious business online. E-commerce software will make your life so much simpler, believe me. Many options on the market today provide free trials or even totally free versions (with limited functionality — but still) you can use right away to form your own impressions. Or like I said head on over to the review site I linked above and get informed opinions from others just like yourself!
